I Don't Know

I Don't Know!

How often do you hear those words coming out of a leaders mouth?

Forgetting the Past <-- Pressing Forward -->

Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead ... Philippians 3:13

It's good to sit back and reflect on life from time to time on what happened, what is happening, and what is going to happen, or what we expect to happen.
Looking back in my 2011 I see that God was setting the platform for my 2012. I started 2011 with low expectations, within a few months things started to change, I heard God's voice calling me. During a 21 day fast few months later He calls me to do something beyond of what I could ask for, beyond of what I think I'm capable of.

I can give God many reasons why He called the wrong person, but I seem to be unsuccessful in this matter too; sometimes I look at my background and life experiences and I wonder if God knows what He's doing. (Stupid right? I know!)
I'm in the process of learning something that I believe is crucial in every part of life, especially when you have screwed up so bad before; It is to Press ON!
My new year began totally different from how the previous year; 2012 is filled with expectations.
We should look back and learn from our mistakes but it is of no value to stay stuck in them. The past is there for experience, we shouldn't live in the past, even though that seems impossible to do, it is really easy to live today with yesterday's mindset.
So let me use the words of the apostle Paul in the letter he wrote to the saints in Philippians on the chapter 3 and verses 12 through 14: "I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." (emphasis mine)
God is not looking for your perfection, He is not telling you to be perfect, He's not telling you to clean up your past, which is impossible to do but we still try it anyway, but He is calling you to Press On and go forward.
Life is too busy to do everything we have to do, we have to many broken things to fix, but as Paul did we should do also, and that is to Focus On ONE THING ...
Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead ------->
If life was a river, life with God is rowing up stream.
Life with God is intentional not natural.
Therefore, learn from the past, and in 2012 be intentional in your walk with Jesus, don't just go with the flow waiting for things to happen, instead make it happen, don't follow your heart, instead lead your heart.
Make a decision, to <--- Forget the Past ...
Make a decision, to Press Forward --->
What God has in stored for you is not in the past, it lies ahead.

The Unity that Releases Authority, by David Demian

www.watchmen.org

When most of us think of the word "unity" in the Church we think of
coming together around godly goals. If an evangelist comes to our
town to do a crusade, churches and ministries in the city will band
together in support of this godly goal - seeing the lost saved. But
while we work together, this does not necessarily translate into the
unity that Jesus prayed for in John 17.

Before you go Up ... You must go Down ...

Arise and go down [...], and there you will hear my words.
Jeremiah 18:2

I believe all that God sends is to teach us something, in all things God has a purpose beyond what we know or think, something far more profound and glorious than we imagine.
When God commands us to pray, we think we have to do half a dozen requests, thank God for everything and that's it, we are "prayed," we are happy because we had a Christian attitude and God must be happy.
All that God asks of us, has to do with Him. The goal is always Him. It is His will to bring us closer to Himself, to have a relationship with us, not only between God and creature, but between a friend and another, between Father and son. That's why God created Adam in his image, to have a relationship with him.

In the book of Jeremiah on the chapter 18 and verse 2, we can draw many lessons for our lives, but today I want to point out just one.
God told Jeremiah, "Arise and go down" ...
* First, "Arise" ... Take position in front of yourself ...
Have courage, be available, STAND UP ...
* Then God says, "Go down" ... Take a stand before God ...
Going down speaks about humbling oneself .. "Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God"
John 12:24 says that if the grain of wheat falls to the ground and die, it abides alone, but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
The Lord tells us to go down so we can hear His word, His voice, His calling.
God wants to reveal His will to us a lot more than we do. He longs for it.
And for that reason He commands us to go down.
We cannot achieve anything from God without first "going down", without first acknowledging our situation, and acknowledging His sovereignty, without admitting that without Him we are nothing and we cannot do anything, without having the conviction that there is no life without God, without before having a revelation that only Jesus has the words of eternal life.
Salvation ... Joy ... Peace ... exist only in Jesus ...

Take position before yourself today, recognizing your need ... STAND UP!
Take a stand before God, acknowledge His sovereignty ... GO DOWN!

And down there the Lord will make you hear His words ...
Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.
Jeremiah 33:3

If you want a different outcome in life, you have to live differently.
